Terms of service

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale govern the purchase of products made remotely through the website www.bikelane.it, owned by Bikelane S.r.l., with registered office at Via Monachelle 47, 87046 Montalto Uffugo (CS), Italy, VAT no. 03977020787, REA no. CS-269776.

1. Subject Matter of the Contract

These terms apply to all orders placed on www.bikelane.it. Bikelane S.r.l. reserves the right to amend these conditions at any time; any changes will take effect from the moment they are published on the website and will apply to orders placed after that date.

2. Products and Assembly

  • Features: Bicycles and components are described in their respective product pages. Bikelane S.r.l. strives for maximum accuracy, but does not guarantee exact colour matching due to users’ monitor settings.

  • Condition upon Delivery: For logistics and transport safety reasons, bicycles are shipped 85–95% pre-assembled.

  • Customer’s Responsibility: The customer is responsible for completing the assembly (typically: fitting the pedals, tightening the handlebar, and installing the front wheel). Bikelane S.r.l. accepts no liability for damage to persons or property resulting from incorrect or negligent assembly carried out by the user.

3. Prices and Payments

All prices on www.bikelane.it are stated in Euros (€) and include applicable VAT.

Payment can be made using the methods indicated at checkout (Credit Cards, PayPal,).

4. Shipping and Delivery

  • Territory: Bikelane S.r.l. ships to [Italy / Europe].

  • Inspection on Delivery: Upon delivery, the Customer must check that the parcel is intact. If there is visible damage to the packaging, the Customer must sign the courier’s delivery note with a specific reservation (e.g. “Accepted with reservation due to dented package”). Without such reservation, Bikelane S.r.l. will not be able to refund any transport damage.

5. Right of Withdrawal

Pursuant to Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Italian Consumer Code), the consumer has the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods.

  • Return conditions: The product must be returned intact, not used on the road, and in the original packaging (essential to prevent damage during return shipping).

  • Costs: Return shipping costs are borne by the customer, unless otherwise indicated as part of a promotion.

6. Legal Warranty

  • Consumers: For private individuals, the warranty period is 24 months from delivery for lack of conformity.

  • Professionals: For purchases made with a VAT number, the warranty period is 12 months.

  • Exclusions: Components subject to normal wear and tear (tyres, chains, brake pads) are excluded from the warranty, as well as damage caused by falls, accidents, or inadequate maintenance.

7. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

The sales contract between the Customer and Bikelane S.r.l. is deemed to be concluded in Italy and is governed by Italian law. For any dispute relating to the application, performance or interpretation of this contract, the competent court shall be that of the consumer’s place of residence or domicile.
